It is a wooden estate in which Pyotr Ilyich lived from May 1892 until his death in November 1893. Russian nature and country life inspired the composer to create great works. The operas “Iolanta” and “The Enchantress” were produced in Klin; “The Queen of Spades”, the ballet “The Nutcracker”, and the Fifth and Sixth Symphonies were completed.
Museum-reserve P.I. Tchaikovsky in Klin is the first memorial music museum, a center for popularizing the creative heritage of the great composer. The museum completely preserves not only the everyday furnishings of the last years of Pyotr Ilyich’s life, but also his archive and library.
